Leonard Lowy: Qualified as a solicitor at one of the major entertainment law firms in London. After gaining experience in private practice, he left to take on the position of Head of Legal Affairs at Island Records Limited, Chris Blackwell's world-famous and ground-breaking label, which was then still independent and very much at the cutting edge of popular music.
In 1985 he was appointed to the Board of Directors at Island. In 1987 he left Island to return to private practice, joining a prestigious music law firm in London's Mayfair, eventually becoming joint senior partner in the practice before leaving in December 1998 to set up Leonard Lowy & Co.
Between 1997 and 2006 he was also a Director and co-owner of Bond Management, the management company which represented, among others, the internationally successful and multi-million selling recording artists Dario G (of "Sunchyme" and "Carnaval de Paris" fame).
Julian Charles: After qualifying as a solicitor, Julian gained valuable experience in the commercial property department of Nabarro Nathanson. Julian then joined a specialised entertainment law firm on the corporate side, becoming a partner and dealing with significant transactions for media clients. He subsequently ran his own law firm in the West End for a number of years and has remained throughout his career in private practice, being a corporate partner in both mid-town and City firms.
As well as having experience over the whole spectrum of business law, he has wide experience of corporate work for the media sector. Julian has experience of teaching law, and has participated as a speaker in in-house and external seminars on company law topics.
